Christmas Letter From My House
Merry Christmas!
Every year brings new reasons for us to praise our God. We are so thankful for our loving family, faithful friends, good health and live ministry events again. Hallelujah!
MINISTRY UPDATE
I spoke at lots of great women’s events in IA, PA, MI and FL this fall. So many women made new declarations of faith; it was awesome!
Did you catch the interview on In the Market with Janet Parshall or any of the other shows I was on in 2021?
WHAT’S NEW?
Each year, the urgency to proclaim Jesus increases. We can’t do it alone. To multiply the messengers with the message of Good News, we created Christian Speaker Bootcamp, an online course to teach aspiring speakers how to start and grow their own speaking ministry. robyndykstra.com/csbc
NEW BOOK!
We’ve been hard at work on a devotional book to help women discover their next step to become more like Jesus. There were many stalls and starts, but Growing Your Faith should launch mid-January 2022.
FAMILY:
The boys are doing great. Eli’s still living and working in Charleston, SC. As a firefighter, he needs to stay in shape, but he took it took a new level in 2021. He competed in a CrossFit tournament in May. Jake took time off from his engineering job, so we could all trek to Myrtle Beach in May to watch and cheer.
The Dykstra men took a hunting excursion in fall. It was a big success, as you can see. (btw, pheasant tastes like chicken)
A NEW MARKER
And, (sigh) I’m a medicare card carrying senior now. So far, 65 has been good.
WHAT’S DAVE DOING?
When Dave isn’t managing ministry stuff (or managing me), he’s fishing.
BLESSINGS TO YOU
From our house to yours, we pray you receive every good thing Jesus has for you.
I’d love to hear how your family is, what you’re working on, or what you’re looking forward to in the year to come. Post your update below!
Verse for today: For to us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6
Prayer: Oh Father, how we thank you for your plan to save us. Thank you for Jesus birth, life, death and resurrection. May we each experience your presence and your pleasure this blessed season. In Jesus Name, amen.
One More Quick Thing
Our ministry has jumpstarted the faith of thousands of women, equipping them with the courage to trust God in spite of circumstances, hormones, difficult people or even natural disasters.
Robyn, I loved your letter, your pictures and all of your written words. They were inspiring. I am shocked to see your Medicare card. There is no way I would have ever guessed you are 65. I would guess more like 50. You sure do take great care of yourself. I am 71 and because of my back and shoulder I hurt. I can’t say how old I feel because this is my first time being 71. I think I am very lucky. I wake up every morning and try to be positive to those I meet as well as my family. I love hearing your talks. Wish I could hear more.
Merry Christmas,
Carol Kerry ~
lol, well thanks, Carol. I have to confess my mind feels 50 even if the rest of me doesn’t always. 🙂
Positivity, thankfulness and kindness are all indicators of a good life well lived. That’s what I read in your commment.
Robyn, blessings to you and your wonderful family. May the joy of this season continue to bring others to Christ.
I too am a Medicare card carrier. Lol. We are the same age.
This has been a hard month for my family as we had a death of a 15 year old by his own hand. It has brought some of us closer though it seems others have chose to remove themselves from being close. I pray God will intervene and hearts will change. Most choose not to walk with Jesus and this breaks my heart as I know this is the root of the choices that are made. I understand them because I once walked in their shoes but by God’s grace and mercy He called me by name. Praise to our Mighty Savior. My hope is they will hear and listen when He calls them by name.
Robyn may your Christmas be surrounded by family. My husband and I will be spending Christmas with his 93 yr old mom who is like my own mom, and a small amount of additional family.
Though it may not be as it once was, it helps my heart in knowing…God never changes and He is healing this.
God bless.
Merry Christmas,
Tina
Hi Tina,
I hear your heart for your family and agree in prayer for them to trust and follow Jesus. You must be a light to them. Merry Christmas.
So fun to see all Of what you’ve been up to. What a year it has been. Thanks for sharing it all!
You’re surrounded by so much handsome, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Robyn and family. Thank you for the update on you and your family, and for being so faithful to our God! My dad passed away in August, and my husband and I are moving in with my mom. It has been very busy, lots of work, but I have seen God’s blessings throughout. My husband and I traveled with my mom to FL to attend my niece’s wedding, visiting my daughter and family in SC along the way. My sister from Michigan traveled also, stopping in SC, and we all stayed with my sister and husband who live in FL. It has been a very blessed time to be all together as family, see old friends, meet new ones. Christmas time in FL and SC is very different than OH and MI! God bless you and your family!
wow, Risa, that’s a big shift. Enjoy your family and sorry about your dad.
Robyn, my husband Paul and I are getting ready to have our grandbabies to stay overnight for Christmas. Ravyn is going to be eight December 28, Soryn our big boy it’s five, and Rhiannon is 2. I can hardly wait! Grandma is ready to play!
I look forward to your devotions every week!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
In Christ’s Love,
Donna J. Davis
Thanks Donna. Your grands have such beautiful and unique names!
Merry Christmas.
Robin, so good to see wonderful blessings for your family. Your ministry is a blessing to the body of Christ. Like Carol above, I cannot say you look even close to 65, but the glory of the Lord shines all over you sister. Keep shining! Prayers and blessings in 2022! Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Elizabeth.
