Chess Anyone?
Pre-Covid, I spoke at an event where the refreshments were so delicious, I was tempted to hold the group hostage till I was promised the recipe for this chocolate delight!
Fortunately, the baker graciously shared the recipe for Chess Pie. If you love rich chocolatey goodness that is easy to make and bake to take, you must try it, too.
Chess Pie Recipe
- 9″ unbaked pie shell
- 4 oz. bar of Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 stick of butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt chocolate and butter together. I put them in a covered saucepan on low to slowly melt it while I mix the sugar, eggs and vanilla together in a separate bowl.
When the chocolate and butter and melted, whisk together till blended. Add the sugar mixture and mix very well with a spatula or spoon. A whisk will create too many air bubbles.
Pour into the unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with whipped topping. Refrigerate leftovers if there are any.
Bon Appetite!
I have had that pie before. It is the best! Thanks for the recipe. I forwarded on your last story to a friend who’s been having a hard time coping lately. I know she will appreciate it.
Thanks Robyn. Have a nice night.
