Expect The Unexpected … Favorballs From Heaven

Have you ever
had a day
(or season)
when it seems like
is going your way?

The car won’t start.
The sink backs up.
There’s a run in your favorite leggings.
The coffee overflows.
The cat pukes on new carpet.
The computer freezes.

You get the idea.

I used to have those kind of days
All. The. Time.

I grumbled and complained
and whined and fussed
Every. Little. Thing.
until they became
BIG things
or the
I saw.

Something had to change!

That’s when I started my book of

A Favorball is any
treasure or pleasure.

Examples of Favorballs are:

You’re running late only to find
you had the time wrong and
you’re actually a few minutes early to a meeting.

You find a long desired
(fill in the blank)
on the clearance rack
and it’s the perfect size!

You have your taxes done,
expecting to pay big bucks,
but you get a refund instead.

A friend calls with tickets
she won to a sold out concert
and she wants to take you!

You wake up to find the
Lawn Fairy or the Shoveling Elf
has worked some magic on your property.

It’s BOGO day at the ice cream stand.

The bank reverses late payment charges
and isn’t snippy about it

A kid falls out of a tree holding a running chainsaw,
and while he gets a huge gaping wound,
there is no long term tendon or bone damage.

The rain storm stops
just as you get out of the car
with your hands full of grocery bags.

The service man says
your air conditioner needs a
$15.00 replacement widget,
not a $2,000.00 compressor.

You miss being in a car accident by an eyelash.

You get a note in the mail
thanking you for making a difference
in someone’s life.
Encouraging Favorball!

You have all the ingredients necessary
to make brownies at 10:00pm.
Delicious Favorball!

As you can see,
sometimes a Favorball is monetary,
but just as often,
it’s God showering a bit of heaven on you
to remind you that you are loved
and worthy of special treatment.

Once you start watching for Favorballs,
you’ll be shocked by how many you notice.

I logged every
missed calamity

The more often
you’re the recipient of a Favorball,
the less you’ll fuss and whine
about the little things that go wrong everyday.

If we say God is good all the time,
we should act like He is good.

If we say God is good all the time,
we should proclaim that He is good.

If we say God is good all the time,
we should be on the look out
for His good

Willing to try it this week?

Track your Favorballs and tell me about the best one.

I can’t wait to compare notes.
