Marketing Technology Specialist
Marketing Technology Specialist
Robyn Dykstra Speaks, LLC – Part-Time, Remote (US-Based)
The Role
Robyn Dykstra Speaks, LLC is a growing Christian speaking and coaching business on a mission to train, equip, activate, and mobilize Christian women to make a lasting impact on live stages.
The Marketing Technology Specialist owns the technical engine behind that mission: the funnels, email and SMS systems, payment tracking, and automations that turn interest into enrolled clients. This is a hands-on technical role. You are the person who makes sure every funnel works, every email lands, every payment is tracked, and the founders always know their numbers.
You will work directly with David R. Dykstra (Co-Founder), who handles operations and business management. Your job is to be the technical counterpart he can hand systems to with full confidence.
Mission of the Position
To keep the business’s marketing and payment technology running accurately and reliably, so the founders can focus on serving clients and growing the mission instead of troubleshooting systems.
What You’ll Own
1. Funnels & Landing Pages (Go High-Level)
- Build out landing pages, funnels, and workflows in Go High-Level (GHL)
- Test every funnel end-to-end for proper functionality and accurate data tracking
- Identify and fix technical issues causing drop-off: broken links, slow pages, misfiring automations, tracking gaps
2. Email & SMS Systems
- Ensure emails deliver correctly through Mailgun and AWeber, and maintain strong deliverability
- Monitor open rates and engagement in AWeber and flag issues early
- Oversee the execution and performance of SMS campaigns
- Build and maintain automations across email, SMS, and related marketing tools
3. Payment Tracking & Verification
- Track and verify client payments in Stripe: initial payments, monthly payments, and failed payments
- Ensure payment data is recorded accurately across systems and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain payment-related KPIs (success rates, failed payment recovery, etc.)
4. KPI Reporting & Technical Troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date tracking reports and KPIs so the founders can make data-driven decisions
- Troubleshoot technical issues across GHL, Mailgun, AWeber, Stripe, and connected tools
- Report issues with clear explanations, proposed solutions, and timelines
- Document the technical systems you build so they are repeatable and transferable
What Success Looks Like
First 30 Days
- Gain working proficiency in the current tech stack (Go High-Level, Stripe, Mailgun, AWeber, Zapier)
- Complete a full audit of payment tracking and identify improvement areas
- Establish reliable KPI tracking and a regular reporting rhythm
First 60 Days
- Complete a technical audit of the two highest-priority funnels and fix any issues found
- Take full ownership of technical troubleshooting for common issues
- Implement a weekly reconciliation process between Stripe and internal records
First 90 Days
- All active funnels audited, tested end-to-end, and running clean, with fixes documented
- Identify and implement at least three automation opportunities that save time or reduce errors
- Fully manage payment verification independently
Ongoing Results This Role Is Accountable For
- Stripe and internal payment records reconciled weekly
- Email health maintained: bounce rate under 2% and spam complaint rate under 0.1% (as reported in Mailgun/AWeber)
- Measurable reduction in funnel abandonment through ongoing optimization
- On-time delivery of all KPI reports
- Technical issues resolved or escalated with clear communication, not left to linger
- Every failed payment followed up within one business day; no unresolved payment discrepancy older than one week
Tools You’ll Use
- Go High-Level (GHL): funnels, workflows, automation
- Stripe: payment processing and verification
- Mailgun: email delivery tracking
- AWeber: email marketing and engagement tracking
- Zapier: automation and integrations
- Google Sheets / Excel: reporting and data analysis
- Slack, Zoom, ClickUp: communication and project management
Who Thrives in This Role
- Proven hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM systems; direct Go High-Level experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable in Stripe and email deliverability tools, or able to get proficient quickly
- Detail-oriented and systems-minded: you catch the broken automation before anyone else notices
- Self-directed: you can own outcomes in a part-time schedule without close supervision
- Clear communicator who explains technical issues in plain language
- Alignment with Christian faith and values, and genuine enthusiasm for the mission of empowering Christian women
Team & Reporting
- Reports directly to David R. Dykstra, Co-Founder
- Meets with David on a regular cadence (currently Monday/Wednesday/Friday check-ins)
- Collaborates with, but does not manage, other team members including Erin (Triage Calls), Brandon (Media Buyer/Tech Support), Jill (Robyn’s Administrative Assistant), speech coaches, and contract workers
Decision-Making Authority
You have the authority to implement and optimize technical systems within established parameters, make day-to-day decisions about tracking and reporting, follow up on payment issues, and address technical problems as they arise. For significant changes to marketing funnels, payment structures, or strategic initiatives, consult with David first. You are encouraged to bring forward recommendations with supporting data, with the understanding that final decisions on budget, strategy, and client-facing policies remain with the founders.
Growth Path
As the business grows, this role grows with it. The natural progression is from part-time technical ownership into a broader technical operations role, with the potential to expand hours, scope, and eventually oversee additional technical or operations team members. For the right person, this position offers a trajectory that parallels the business’s expansion.
